When a great white oak gifts an old man a branch imbued with magic, he carves five wooden matryoshka dolls, each smaller than the last. The wooden dolls take on a life of their own as they frolic from one season to the next, bringing the old man and his wife a joy they had always longed for. Beautiful verse and stunning, traditional illustrations full of woodland creatures and playfully painted matryoshka dolls explore a tale of heartache, hope, and love.
Stephanie Campisi is an Australian picture book author based in Tennessee. When not exploring the woods and streams about her home, she's reading to her son or concocting imaginative worlds brimming with wordplay and whimsy.
Madalina Andronic is a Romanian illustrator currently based in Puglia, Italy, drawing inspiration from traditional fairy tales, folklore, travels, and love stories, never forgetting the magic of where she come from. Passionate about details and rich colors, Madalina's art radiates energy and joy. With an MA in illustration from Camberwell College of Arts in London, she developed a strong and distinctive style and has worked for clients all around the world in publishing, editorial, advertising, commissions, and porcelain, as well as having nine published books in Romania, the UK, and the United States.

Some items have non-standard dimensions and may incur additional shipping charges. If needed, we will contact you after your purchase to inform you.
RETURNS
Online orders can be returned within 14 days of initial receipt. If more than 14 days have gone by since the initial receipt of your purchase, unfortunately we can’t accept your return or exchange.
Please contact us at hello@parkette.ca with your request before returning an item. We will provide you with a return authorization number. A return authorization number must be included in your return. All returned purchases will either be issued a store credit or exchange minus the initial shipping charge. We are a small family-owned business and unfortunately cannot offer any refunds at this time.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in its original packaging. Items must be unworn, and tags still attached. All footwear must have no creasing or damage to the soles to be returned. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food or magazines cannot be returned.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that plans can change, and we’re here to help as best we can. Please note that due to recent changes in our payment processor’s policies, canceled orders will incur a 3% cancellation fee. This fee helps cover the non-refundable processing costs associated with your original payment. Once an order has shipped, we’re unable to cancel it.
